When iOS 6 released, there were a lot of complaints about how inaccurate the new maps application on iOS 6 was. Apple had done away with Google’s solution and put in their own Maps application. Well, Tim Cook(CEO of Apple) has come out and written an <a title=”Read Tim Cook’s open letter regarding Maps on iOS 6″ href=”http://www.apple.com/uk/letter-from-tim-cook-on-maps/”>open letter</a>. In this letter, he has apologised and acknowledged that the new Maps app on iOS 6 was not up to par. He then went on to suggest that users should use check out some of the solutions on the App store such as Bing or Waze. He even suggested that users go on the web and use the Web-based version of Google’s Maps or Nokia’s Maps applications.
This is very rare for Apple to come out an apologise about an issue like this. However, Steve Jobs called a press conference regarding the “Antennagate” on the iPhone 4. He basically got around apologising by silencing the masses and saying that people would get a free case. Alternatively, people would be able to return their iPhone 4 for a full refund.
